The fact that the Heat has been so dominant in the NBA playoffs so far is impressive. When you consider that Miami has gotten this far without one of their star players in Chris Bosh, it reaches another level entirely. The Heat are within reach of a second consecutive NBA odds finals appearance, and while they will need Bosh back to have any chance at all against either the Spurs or Thunder, this time without him may ultimately help them if he can get back to game shape. Lebron James and Dwayne Wade have been able to share the ball and get the job done without worrying about dealing with anybody the touches of any other player, while the rest of Miami’s supporting cast has risen to the occasion around them. Boston played much better in game two than it did in game one, including Rajon Rondo’s phenomenal 44-point, 10-assist per head performance, but it still wasn’t enough to win a game. Now the Celtics return home looking to get more from aging stars Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, and if it doesn’t come then the Heat could be off the finals before the end of the weekend with game four going on Sunday.

The most impressive part about the Spurs’ dominance in these playoffs, which reached 20 consecutive wins overall before game three on Thursday night, is that it has been by necessity that they have gotten these wins, and haven’t stopped to reflect on all that they have accomplished because the greatest goal is still in front of them. A sportsbook player’s dream, San Antonio needed to both clinch home advantage and minimize the strain on its veteran players in order to have a chance at another title, and the result has a devastating win streak. Any concerns about the Spurs’ ability to win games on the road were dismissed when they won 22 of their 33 games as the visitors, and now they get a chance to take care of business against Oklahoma City and ensure they aren’t fatigued for the 5Dimes NBA final.
