Who will Replace Neymar at Barcelona?

Who will Replace Neymar at Barcelona? It finally happened. After all the years of the La Liga giants making their players untouchable via outrageous release clauses, Paris Saint-Germain finally went and bid £198 million to acquire the world-class Neymar from Barcelona. It sent shockwaves throughout the football world, most of all to the Catalan giants, who must now find a way to replace one of their best players.

Given that they just received an astronomical fee for the Brazilian, Barcelona can pretty much have their pick of the bunch when it comes to transfers. They’ve been rumoured to be interested in so many top-class players, including Philippe Coutinho, Eden Hazard, Dele Alli, Thomas Lemar, Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, and Mesut Ozil.

But who would be best to fill Neymar’s boots at Camp Nou?

Seeking Neymar’s replacement

Neymar transfer

As we all know, Neymar is a special talent, an incredibly gifted and still young Brazilian who could very well win the Ballon d’Or now that he’s the star of his team. At any other club, this would be a devastating loss as, no matter how much money came in from the transfer, there’s only one Neymar, so finding an exact fit will be near-impossible.

Despite this, Barcelona haven’t even been nudged in the La Liga betting and are still joint-favourites to win the league at 10/11 with Real Madrid – as they both were before the Neymar deal. Regardless, the Catalan club must find a player to fill the creative void and to accompany Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi on the top line.

Philippe Coutinho joining Barcelona

A player who Barcelona have reportedly been chasing for a while now is Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho. The Brazilian has been Liverpool’s lynchpin on the offensive for a few years now, with his creativity and wicked shot being able to bring his team points when it looked like none were available. He would be a decent buy but he won’t be able to come close to what Neymar can do while playing in a similar fashion.

Eden Hazard is already a world-class player, loves to dominate the left wing, receive the ball, take on defenders, and beat the goalkeeper. His flair, swift feet, high football IQ, and cold finishing make him a great option to be Neymar’s replacement, offering that elite level of lethal finishing that Neymar took with him.

A player with a good finish on him, is remarkably speedy, and is one of the silkiest playmakers in the world is Angel Di Maria. After a falling out with Louis van Gaal at Manchester United rained on his good start to Premier League life a couple of years ago, Di Maria left for PSG and continued to dazzle with his playmaking skills. If Barcelona want to stack up Messi’s goal count for the Ballon d’Or, signing his compatriot would be a step in the right direction.

Monaco, Mbappe için 216 milyon eur

Then again, Barcelona could get to crafting the next world-beating wunderkind and sign Kylian Mbappe. The 18-year-old Frenchman took the Champions League by storm, with his club, AS Monaco, slapping a monster fee on his head to deter the big clubs. Barcelona could now do to Monaco what PSG did to them; match their bet.

By way of tipping, it looks most likely that Coutinho will be on his way to Camp Nou; however, signing Mbappe wouldn’t be beyond Barcelona and would be the smart choice. So, watch both spaces as the La Liga giants look to replace one of the best players in the world.
