Braves Look To Build on Biggest Division Lead in Baseball This Weekend

The Atlanta Braves owned the best online sports betting record in baseball heading in to this week’s action, and there is no reason to think they can’t build on it when they host the lowly Miami Marlins this weekend. Atlanta’s double-digit lead in the National League East is easily the biggest in baseball right now, with the Washington Nationals way back in the rearview mirror.

New York Mets @ Washington Nationals

Saturday, 7:05 PM ET

Washington entered this week 13 games back of the Braves for first place in the NL East, not nearly close to where price per head experts thought they would be at this point. The Nationals were among the favorites to represent the NL in this year’s World Series, but they have been incredibly inconsistent and could wind up finishing below .500 if they don’t pick it up down the stretch. Dan Haren is coming off one of his worst outings of the year and is stuck at 8-11 with a 4.66 ERA on the season. He will be in tough against the Mets with the 23-year old rookie left Zack Wheeler on the mound, as he looks to lead New York to its 10th win in his last 11 starts.

My Pick: New York Mets + 130

Miami Marlins @ Atlanta Braves

Saturday, 7:10 PM ET

The sportsbook reviews consistency that Atlanta has shown this year is the exact opposite of what we have seen from Washington, and they aren’t looking to slow down with a chance to clinch the best record n the NL and home advantage throughout the playoffs. The Braves own the best home record in the majors, so having that advantage in the playoffs would be a huge boost to their World Series chances. Mike Minor is 4-0 over his last six starts while keeping his ERA below 3.00 for the most part, and should be a lock to get the win with Jacob Turner getting the start for Miami. Turner hasn’t earned a win since early July, a span of eight-straight starts without a victory.

My Pick: Atlanta Braves – 160

San Francisco Giants @ Arizona Diamondbacks

Saturday, 8:10 PM ET

The fact that the Diamondbacks once led the NL West seems like ancient history, never mind when San Francisco actually was in first place. The defending World Series champion Giants have fallen to 18 games back of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West, and it will be hard to avoid falling any further this Saturday with Patrick Corbin set to start for Arizona. Corbin is 13-4 with a 2.79 ERA on the year, and could close in on the 15-win live betting mark soon with a little help. The Giants will counter with Ryan Vogelsong, who is coming off of his best start of the year but still has just three wins and a 5.58 ERA. My Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks – 140
