Good AL Action Coming Up This Weekend

The American League playoff battles are heating up and this weekend will give us a good look at which teams will be around for the long haul. The on line sports betting experts are seeing some AL teams really putting up a fight to stay relevant in the standings and at least qualify for one of the two wild card spots. It will be a fun weekend for AL fans to sit by the television and see how their favorite teams do as the season starts to enter the final few weeks.

Saturday – Texas Rangers @ Oakland Athletics

If the Rangers are going to catch the Athletics in the AL West standings, then Texas will have to take advantage of these head to head series. The sportsbook agents know that Texas won’t have many more chances like this for the rest of the season. The steady Matt Garza puts his 7-1 record on the line in this game against Oakland’s Jarrod Parker. It is safe to say that Parker had some problems finding his groove earlier in the season, but he has a 3-0 record in his last 10 starts. One thing to watch is that Parker has not had a decision in six consecutive games, which could come into play in this contents.

My Pick: Texas Rangers

Saturday – Chicago White Sox @ Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers did not think that they would be running away with the AL Central pennant this season, but they did not expect to be battling the Cleveland Indians this late in the season. The Chicago White Sox have plummeted to the AL Central basement and look to stay there the rest of the season. The sports betting online experts will be interested to watch Detroit’s Max Scherzer in this game as Scherzer is trying to become a 20-game winner this season. At 15-1, Scherzer has already established a pace that should give him that magic number of 20 wins before the season comes to an end.

My Pick: Detroit Tigers

Saturday – Cleveland Indians @ Miami Marlins

While the Tigers are facing last place Chicago on Saturday, the Indians will be a little further south facing the NL East last place Miami Marlins. The sports betting websites do not expect to hear much of anything about the Marlins for the remainder of this season, but the Cleveland battle for the AL Central pennant is drawing a lot of attention. The Indians will put young pitching prospect Zach McAllister on the mound for this game as they try to get McAllister the confidence he needs to be part of the playoff run. The Indians have been hitting the ball very well as of late, while the Marlins’ pitching has been about as bad as pitching at the MLB level can be. The Tigers will have to make the most of their home game against the White Sox because the Indians will definitely be putting the pressure on from Miami.

My Pick: Cleveland Indians
