His victory ended a drought of 30 months and leaves Woods sports and morally well positioned to face the first major tournament of the season, the Masters, which starts on April 5.

Woods was world number one until October 2010, when he lost to Lee Westwood, and came out of the ‘top-50’ as he wrestled with the breakdown of her marriage and injury, complications not allowed to perform at high level.

But Tiger is still up in the standings and sixth in the world besides, is now America’s number two, behind compatriot Steve Stricker.

Bovada Sportsbook has Woods listed as the 4-1 favorite to win his fifth Masters title, with Rory McIlroy close behind at 5-1. Other bookies have similar odds, with Bovada. BetOnline have Woods as the 7-2 favorite with McIlroy next at 9-2.

At 4-1 odds, a $1 bet returns $5. At 7-2, $1 returns $4.50.

In Masters 2012 Tournament Winner betting, Bovada Sportsbook is quoting:

Woods, 4/1, McIlroy, 9/2, Mickelson, 9/1, Donald, 14/1, Westwood, 16/1, Adam Scott, Charl Schwartzel, Justin Rose, Jason Day, Keegan Bradley, all 33/1, Sergio Garcia, hunter Mahan, Martin Kaymer, Nick Watner, Dustin Johnson, Steve Stricker, Webb Simpson, 40/1, Bubba Watson, 45/1, all others 50/1 and above.
