NBA Preview: New York Knicks vs. Brooklyn Nets

Tonight will be a New York showdown as the New York Knicks are taking on the Brooklyn Nets. Both teams are riding high in the Eastern Conference sitting in second and third place respectively. The Knicks who are 9-3 so far this season are only a game behind leading Miami Heat and are hoping to move up to a first place tie. Meanwhile the 8-4 Nets are only 1.5 games behind the leading Heat as well and want to win against their cross-town rivals. It is a sports betting fans favorite gameto see two divisional teams go head to head. The game is a rescheduled home opening match because of the devastating effects of hurricane Sandy.

Brooklyn is coming off a win on Sunday against the Portland Trailblazers, 98-85. Brooklyn’s top scorer Brook Lopez is sure to come out with a lot of energy to help lead the Nets. He currently averages 19 points per game, while the rest of the starting lineup cannot seem to break the 10 points per game line. The team has now won their last two games and will hope to carry that momentum into this anticipated home game. Because of the devastating effects of the storm, there is a lot weighing on this game for Brooklyn. Emotions are sure to be high for both teams.

The Knicks are having a great season thus far. Carmelo Anthony is sitting third overall in scoring in the league with a total of 100 points in 11 games. At the three point line, the Knicks are hitting 45% of their shots thanks to the success of Anthony. On average he is scoring 25 points per game, so expect much of the same results tonight. It will be hard to stop the Knicks, especially when divisional bragging rights are on the line.

As of right now, many sportsbook reviews and online betting sites have the Knicks listed as the favorite by one point, with the over/under sitting at 193. This is anticipated to be a close game with the Knicks averaging 103 points per game compared to the Nets 95 points per game. The Knicks are not great on the road with a 4-3 record, while the Nets seem to thrive at home as they now boast a 6-1 record. Needless to say, this is the game of the week for NBAbetting fans as the two teams hope to separate themselves in the Eastern Conference.
